On one of my most recent adventures, this time in the Northwest, I was shooting the breeze with some drivers on the CB when a truck caught my attention. Coming up through traffic behind me I noticed a really sharp looking Pete. Well, you guessed it, I made sure it passed me so that I could get a good look. As it passed I realized this truck seemed to never end. With a good look down the passenger side it was time to look at the drivers side. I was quite impressed. So I began my improvised advertising speech and talked the driver into some pictures and so we stopped. After talking to Rick, the driver, I found out that it was a company truck (man sign me up!). It is a 1997 379 with a 475 HP CAT with an 18 speed transmission. It has a dropped front suspension and 6 inch stacks. He pulls a 1997 53 foot Western 4 axle trailer giving it a capacity of up to 105,500 lbs. It is owned by Darin Olsen of Darin Olsen Trucking, who combined with his dad, run 87 trucks in and around Oregon and Washington. Darin has told me that they have many others that look as good and better and said that they are ours for the picture taking. We expect many more great picture to come from the Olsen Family.
